Westlake Women’s Club
Through The Years
Since our founding in 1968, the Westlake Women’s Club has proudly served the Conejo Valley through decades of meaningful service, philanthropy, and leadership. What began as a small group of civic-minded women has grown into a dynamic organization committed to making a lasting impact.
From hosting elegant fundraising galas to rolling up our sleeves for hands-on volunteer work, WWC has evolved with the times-while staying true to our mission of community betterment, friendship, and empowerment.
During the 1970s, the Westlake Women’s Club grew alongside the expanding community of Westlake Village. What began as a small group of women in the previous decade blossomed into a larger organization, with members bringing fresh energy and new ideas to service and fellowship.
In the 1990s, the Westlake Women’s Club entered a new era of growth and outreach. With the community of Westlake Village thriving, WWC expanded its programs and charitable contributions to meet broader needs. Members continued their strong commitment to education through scholarships and school support, while also embracing projects that addressed social services, healthcare, and cultural enrichment.
By the 2010s, the Westlake Women’s Club had firmly established itself as a cornerstone of service and philanthropy in the Conejo Valley. Membership reflected a blend of long-time members and new women eager to carry forward the Club’s mission, bringing fresh perspectives while honoring its traditions.
The 2020s have brought both challenges and opportunities for the Westlake Women’s Club. During the early part of the decade, members faced the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, adapting with resilience and creativity. They found new ways to stay connected, support one another, and continue serving the community despite restrictions, demonstrating the Club’s enduring commitment and spirit
The Westlake Women’s Club was founded in 1968, a time when Westlake Village was just beginning to take shape as a new planned community. The women who established the Club were pioneers in both spirit and service, eager to build connections and contribute to the growth of their town.
By the 1980s, the Westlake Women’s Club had become a well-established presence in the community. Membership was strong, and the Club’s reputation for service, leadership, and camaraderie continued to grow.
The 2000s marked a time of renewal and adaptation for the Westlake Women’s Club as it entered the 21st century. While honoring its long-standing traditions, the Club embraced new ways to connect, organize, and serve in a rapidly changing world.
In the second half of the 2010s, the Westlake Women’s Club carried forward its mission of service, philanthropy, and friendship. The Club hosted popular annual events—including the Fashion Show, and Holiday Boutique—that raised funds for scholarships and supported a wide range of local charities. Members actively volunteered in the community, partnered with schools and nonprofits, and contributed to civic and cultural programs throughout Westlake Village.
Today, WWC is focused on expanding its membership base and welcoming women of all ages who share a passion for friendship, service, and philanthropy. The Club is also working to increase fundraising efforts, ensuring it can provide even greater support to scholarships, local nonprofits, and community programs.
