Doris K. Rufener, our incredible long time Westlake Women’s Club President and Volunteer
has left us on June 25, 2022. Doris was a WAC World Word II Veteran stationed in New Guinea and in the Philippines. During this time she met her husband Kenneth, a Lt. Coronel of the Strategic Air Command, and they had two children. After being transferred to Southern California Doris has been an outstanding Youth Volunteer, receiving awards from the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club and the Camarillo State Hospital Cottage working with twenty abused boys. She has also been a representative for the Under One Roof Community Services Center in T.O and a board member of Community Conscience. In 1986 Doris was selected as “Outstanding Volunteer” by the Area C - California Federation of Women’s Clubs, and in 1987 was the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce “Woman of the Year”.
All Members are invited to attend and celebrate a four times and President Emeritus of the Westlake Women’s Club.
It is an honor to celebrate a dedicated and enthusiastic Club Woman who LOVED to VOLUNTEER.
