At the Westlake Women’s Club General Meeting of today spirits were high because we are now all set and ready for an exciting Fashion on Parade Mamma Mia event starting on Friday April 29th at 10:00 am at the Hyatt Regency Westlake.
National Disaster Search Dog Foundation
Our April presenter was the Senior Director for the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, Mr. Rhett Mauck, who explained how FEMA certified, highly skilled canine disaster search teams are trained.
Members and guests enjoyed viewing two educational videos explaining the different stages of training for paired dogs and handlers to search for missing persons and victims of natural and man-made disasters; and pictures of search team deployments.
All in attendance celebrated Founder, Helene Ross’s 96 Birthday with a big signed card and a jolly Happy Birthday sung by all!
