Heavy rain did not stop the Westlake Women’s Club members and guests from celebrating International Woman’s Day. The United Nations theme for 2023 is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. Bringing Women’s lives into Technology will give them access to stronger life opportunities.
There were many activities in preparation for the upcoming “Fashion on Parade – Cruising the Caribbean, including organizing the silent auction basket production, preparing for soliciting and managing gift certificates from local businesses and selling tickets for the event. We are looing forward to one of the best events yet. We took the opportunity of taking lunch payments to test out our new credit card system that will speed up the process of taking vendor and silent auction payments and eliminate/reduce wait time. Our guest speaker for the day was one of our favorites: Dale Harshberger from Armstrong Garden Centers in Thousand Oaks (https://www.armstronggarden.com/). Dale gave us a lot of good advice about care of plants, garden design and irrigation maintenance during the draught observances. Other than its was raining, our ladies were motivated to start planting for the spring.
