The Westlake Women’s Club members and guests met at the Los Roble’s Greens for its October General Meeting. After the introduction of Guests and New Members General business was covered.
Cathy Stewart then presented an overview of the history of the Westlake Women's Club, as we celebrate the 54 years of the founding of the Club. Many of the old pictures are available for your viewing on the History tab of our web site.
Cally Pantages, Chairperson for the upcoming November 11th. philanthropic event gave an update on progress and let the members know that the Holiday Fantasy experience will be magical with a fabulous Entertainment program, by "Five Star Theatrical", youth performers accompanied by, a pianist and one male soloist.
The Guest Speaker for November was Niki Richardson , Associate Director TOArts .
Niki Richardson is the Associate Director of TOArts, the nonprofit fundraising and presenting partner of the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks. TOArts is the largest presenter of shows at the two theatres. Niki is responsible for fundraising and manages the day-to-day operations of the organization. In an excellent example of public/private partnership, TOArts provides an annual cash donation of over $500,000 to the City of Thousand Oaks for theatre operations and the City of Thousand Oaks provides overhead, operational and leadership support to the organization. Other TOArts programs include transforming the lives of youth through the presentation of live theatrical performances for local school-aged youth at no cost to the schools or families, supporting the dreams of artists by reducing the cost of renting the theatres and inspiring teachers and students alike by advocating for arts education and supporting local school districts to provide sequential high-quality arts education to elementary schools in Ventura County.
The Club's 54th birthday and that of all the members was celebrated with five delicious home-baked cakes from dedicated club members, and ice cream from the Los Robles Greens Golf catering service.
